Agreement to terms

By accessing or using Slova ("the Service"), available at slova.be, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Slova provides

Slova is a vocabulary training application for learners of Russian. The Service includes:

• Vocabulary management with spaced repetition scheduling.
• Grammar exercises (cases, conjugation, aspect) generated by AI.
• Declension and conjugation reference tables.
• Educational content on the Slova website (articles, word lists, grammar guides).

Slova is an educational tool. It is not a certified language course and does not guarantee any specific learning outcome or certification.

Your account

To use Slova, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Keeping your login credentials secure.
• All activity that occurs under your account.
• Notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose.
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure.
• Use automated tools to scrape content or overload our servers.
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service without permission.

Intellectual property

The Slova name, logo, website design, and educational content are our intellectual property. AI-generated exercises (sentences, conjugation tables, declension data) are created for educational use within the Service.

Your word lists and learning data belong to you. You can export or delete them at any time.

AI-generated content

Slova uses AI (Google Gemini) to generate exercise content. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors. Slova is a training aid, not a definitive linguistic authority. We recommend cross-referencing with established resources for critical usage.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Slova available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

• Perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability.
• Modify, update, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
• Change these terms - significant changes will be communicated via the app or email.

Free and paid tiers

Slova currently offers a free tier. If we introduce paid features in the future, pricing and terms will be clearly communicated before any charges apply. You will never be charged without explicit consent.

Limitation of liability

Slova is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or zero, if you are on the free tier).

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Brussels, Belgium.
